HART is a lived experience recovery organisation in North Somerset. We promote recovery, build community, and connect people to the help and treatment they deserve.
"Recovery gave me back the person I thought was gone forever."
HART — Helping Addicts Recover Today — was founded on a simple belief: that people who have walked the path of addiction and recovery are uniquely placed to help others do the same.
We are a peer-led organisation based in North Somerset, working alongside commissioners, NHS services, and community partners to ensure that everyone who needs support can access it — without judgment, without barriers.
Our work spans direct support, community recovery groups, advocacy, and helping people navigate treatment pathways. We believe recovery is not just possible — it is happening all around us, every day.
"We don't just signpost people — we walk alongside them."
One-to-one support from someone who truly understands — a person with their own lived experience of recovery ready to walk alongside you.
Regular community gatherings across North Somerset — safe, supportive spaces to share, listen, and connect with others on the recovery path.
We help you understand your treatment options, navigate referrals, and access statutory and voluntary services with confidence.
Addiction affects whole families. We offer guidance and a listening ear for parents, partners, and loved ones navigating this alongside someone.
We speak up for people in treatment and recovery — at care reviews, meetings, and in the community — ensuring voices are heard.
Practical, non-judgmental information and support to keep people safer wherever they are on their journey — on their terms, at their pace.
Behind every number is a person, a family, a life reclaimed. The people we work with inspire us constantly. These are just a few of their words, shared with permission.
